Survey finds IT teams lack visibility and predictability in managing AI workloads at scale.
A Virtana survey of 788 IT infrastructure leaders reveals significant challenges in managing AI workloads, with only 34% rating them highly predictable and 66% lacking reliable performance baselines. Key pain points include difficulty discovering root causes of issues (69%), tracking cost and efficiency metrics (57%), and GPU utilization monitoring.
The survey shows that premium AI hardware costs are reshaping infrastructure budgets, with 80% of organizations reallocating spending and 56% deferring legacy modernization efforts. Despite these challenges, most issues can be addressed over time, though many organizations remain unprepared for effective AI operationalization at scale.
