AWS Backup for Amazon S3 adds direct read-only access to backup data without a restore.
AWS Backup for Amazon S3 now supports creating S3 Access Points that provide immediate read-only access to backup data using standard S3 APIs.
Customers no longer need to initiate a full restore before reading from a backup. This enables targeted file recovery, data validation, compliance auditing, and forensic investigation while the backup data remains protected and immutable.
The capability substantially shortens investigation timelines during incident response.
